Dr. Lakshmikanth Challa obtained his medical degree in 1995 from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, one of the premiere medical institutes in India. He moved to England in 1996 for higher training. He worked in General Medicine (predominantly Cardiology and Gastroenterology) until 2002 when he decided to pursue Family Practice. He was trained in Eastern Deanery (Cambridgeshire) in general practice and became a GP in 2004. He worked as a full time GP partner in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire from 2004 to 2013. He emigrated to Canada in 2013. He has been working in New Pitt Meadows Medical Clinic since then. During his training he has achieved numerous qualifications in various specialties (Internal Medicine – MRCP, Family Practice – MRCGP and CCFP), Gynecology and Obstetrics (DRCOG) and Child Health (DCH). He has also cleared USA licensing exams (USMLEs) and achieved certificate from Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). He is a very active member of local Ridge Meadows Family Practice Division and is involved in lot of initiatives.
Dr. Challa enjoys sports, hiking, travelling and passionate about wild life conservation. He is married with two children a boy and a girl. He lives in Maple Ridge with his family. He states that his parents are inspirational for him to become a doctor since his childhood. He is very passionate about his profession. Good sense of humor is one of his attributes. He speaks 4 Indian Languages (Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Urdu). He understands Punjabi. He is the Director of New Pitt Meadows Medical Clinic.
