General Medicine

The vast majority of a physician’s work load consists of managing chronic general medical conditions. It is good practice to review patients with chronic medical conditions, ideally at 3 month intervals. Therefore, we request that all such patients see their GP at least once every 3 months for routine check ups and medication reviews.

Some patients need their blood work done regularly; for example patients with diabetes (HbA1C), on Warfarin (INR), in Renal failure (kidney function), etc. Please speak to your physician regarding having a standing order for blood work.

We offer Complete Physical Examinations once per year. If you are due for one, please let the MOA know, so that they can schedule an appointment.

If you are over 65, or if you have a chronic medical problem, (particularly asthma or COPD), please ask your physician for a Pneumococcal vaccine.

Dr. Challa has a special interest in Cardiovascular medicine (Coronary Artery Disease, Heart Failure, Atrial Fibrillation, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, etc.), Diabetes and Gastrointestinal problems. Please feel free to discuss with him if you have any issues.
